A Convenient Deceit

A Convenient Deceit

In commemoration of Earth Day, here is my analysis of the Academy Award-winning Al Gore movie that galvanized the global warming movement and ultimately led to its demise by exposing the arguments for global warming alarmism to serious public, scientific scrutiny. An Inconvenient Truth is a platform from which Gore assumes the Cassandra role of predicting the demise of the world as we know it. As a work intended to frighten audiences into compelling government to “do something, anything” about global warming, the film fails…

That Fascist Green Police Ad is Stuck in My Head

That Fascist Green Police Ad is Stuck in My Head

And that’s the point, I guess. Watch this ad for a “clean diesel” car by Audi, and good luck getting this slightly modified version of the Cheap Trick classic “Dream Police” out of your head. I couldn’t get it out with a lobotomy. It’s been playing off and on in my brain since it first aired during the Super Bowl. But beyond the ditty, I also can’t get the vision of a fascist “green” future out of my head — even if it’s portrayed with…

Climate Scientist to Colleagues: Don’t Dismiss Climategate

The 13th Annual Energy & Environment Conference, held in Phoenix Feb. 1-3, isn’t the sort of place where global warming “deniers” are exactly welcome. In fact, by my observations, the skeptical caucus at the event consisted entirely of: James M. Taylor, a senior fellow for environment policy at The Heartland Institute; Keith Lockitch, a fellow of the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights; and me. All the other attendees spent their time discussing how the U.S. government — or, even better, a “global government” — needs to compel us all to…

Live-blogging Obama’s State of the Union Address

President Obama will be delivering his first State of the Union address on Wednesday night — and it should be an interesting address in the wake of the Massachusetts Miracle and the collapse of ObamaCare in Congress. Certainly, the speech-writers have been working overtime this week to make the proper (and, hopefully, humblng) adjustments. The Heartland Institute, a free-market think tank peopled by scholars of a libertarian bent, is going to be live-blogging Obama’s speech. It will be using the “Cover it Live” program, which means…

Envirocommies to Dump ‘Global Warming’?

May 6, 2009
By

The envirocommunist movement is trying to drop the term global warming from their bag of scaremongering tricks because, well, it just doesn’t scare anybody anymore, writes Paul Chesser in The American Spectator. In response to poll numbers showing the public to be increasingly skeptical toward claims that global warming is a crisis, the envirocommies are looking to switch to less tainted terms such as "our deteriorating atmosphere" and "climate change," Chesser notes.

Cleveland Meterorologists Speak Out Against Global Warming Hysteria

Responding to the overwhelming trend among scientists who are concluding that manmade global warming is not a crisis and that the temperature of the earth is instead driven by sun cycles and other natural phenomena, journalists and weather forecasters across the nation are questioning the hysterical claims of a global warming crisis.   The latest to join the movement against global warming hysteria: professional meteorologists in frosty Cleveland, Ohio.

Global Warming Is “Greatest Scam in History,” Weather Channel Founder Says

The Icecap website presents a scathing denunciation of global warming alarmism today, written by Weather Channel founder John Coleman. Here are some excerpts: It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an allusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to…

Leftist Voice of Sanity on Global Warming

Leftist Voice of Sanity on Global Warming

The far-left polemicist Alexander Cockburn, longtime columnist for The Nation, has been openly skeptical toward the dangerous-anthropogenic global warming theory that has increasingly animated the entire left during the past decade. In a recent column in The Nation, he skewers the global warming alarmists as superstitious, unreasoning, supercilious chiliasts. Here are some excerpts from his column, "Is Global Warming a Sin?":
