I understand the party starts in Qadaffi's tent later today.

Hilarious, Edmond. I'm sure all of America's enemies are laughing today.

One might in fact include the Nobel committees in that category.

At first blush, it IS funny and a devastating blow to what is left of the Nobel Committees credibility but on deeper reflection it might actually turn out to be quite clever. The Nobel Committee's objective here is to influence American policy. If we had a President who placed American security and interests above his own venality this ploy would be embarrassing but aimed as it is toward Obama it may well prove effective. With Obama now dithering his way towards a new policy in Afghanistan this appeal to his more "pacific" impulses just might work. We're laughing at them now but I fear the Nobel Committee just might have the last laugh here.

I'd like to go on record as nominating myself for The 2010 Nobel Peace Prize. First Internet pseudonym/avatar to win. I've done nothing for 12 days before, and I could use the cash.
